The Iconic Serie Up Bubble Chair

The Iconic Serie Up Bubble Chair

If ever there was an impulse buy of the century this was it. I was looking for something bright for the new duplex, nit too big that it would obstruct the hallway but that would make a statement. The B&B Italia Serie Up is one of the most outstanding expressions of design of the 60's. Designed in 1969 by Gaetano Pesce it's aim was to blur the line of design and art and was inspired by the female form, the goddesses of fertility but Pesce also explained that the ottoman attached as a spherical ball was designed to signify a ball and chain and imply that apparently women are their own jailers. Hilarious but still undoubtedly beautiful these iconic pieces are still being designed by B&B Italia and whilst it's the comfiest chair in the house I prefer it to be a goddess chair and it's all mine.

The original giant Balloon Dog by Jeff Koon sold for $58.4m and became a pop culture phenomenon. I love them and have several baby versions. This mid size one goes so well with the bubble chair and brings some fin into the space. And you cant have a chair like that without it clashing outrageously with a flashy aubergine rug. The cushion is Wear The House Vintage and is one of my fave jacuard pieces.
